The flight to Spain went well.  Delays in Minneapolis meant I got to show off my mad speedwalking skills in O'Hare, but I made my flight.  Besides, exercise is good for you, right?

Rodrigo, the head of the English department at my school in Campillos, met me at the airport.  I'm staying with he and his girlfriend, Celine, until I find a place.  They are both wonderful people; I'm incredibly lucky.  They're helping me find an apartment because I have a hard time understanding rapid Spanish over the phone.  And, of course, rapid Spanish is the only kind there is.

Yesterday we had lunch on the Mediterranean and went out in the evening with their friends, who are just as wonderful as they are.  Probably out of respect for my considerable jet lag, they made it an early night.  In Spanish terms this means we were only out until 2.  Today it's more relaxing with Rodrigo, Celine and their friends.  Life is rough.  :-)

Málaga is beautiful, by the way.  Someday I might get around to taking pictures.

Leaving

Well folks, tomorrow is the day for giant luggage and tiny airplane food.  If all goes well, I will be in Málaga, Spain at 2:30 pm Friday.  Then it's open season on apartments!

I will be in Spain until the beginning of June, ruthlessly corrupting the minds of children as a language and cultural assistant in a town called Campillos.

Please keep in touch; I'll do the same.  :-)
